Introducing the Unofficial Royalty Earnings Report: Get Early Insight Into Your Royalties

As part of our ongoing mission to make royalty reporting more timely, we're excited to roll out a new feature in your Author’s Republic dashboard: the Unofficial Royalty Earnings Report.

This new report gives you a sneak peek into your incoming earnings before the financial month officially closes—providing you with earlier visibility into your next royalty payout.

What Is the Unofficial Royalty Earnings Report?

The Unofficial Royalty Earnings Report is exactly what it sounds like: a preview of your earnings as we receive royalty reports from our distribution partners. These numbers are updated on a rolling basis throughout the month, giving you earlier insight into what's coming your way.

Previously, all earnings were displayed only after we completed our monthly financial close. Now, with this new feature, you’ll begin to see data populate in your dashboard as soon as we ingest reports—no need to wait until the end of the month to get a pulse on your performance.

We understand how important it is for authors and rights holders to have up-to-date, accessible information about their royalties. Whether you’re forecasting revenue, planning your next promotional push, or just curious about how new releases are doing, having earlier access to earnings data gives you a critical advantage.

With the Unofficial Royalty Earnings Report, you’ll have:

  • Earlier visibility into expected payouts
  • More informed financial planning and strategic decision-making

How It Works

Distribution platforms report to us on varying schedules—monthly, bi-monthly, or quarterly. As we receive these earnings reports, they are ingested into our system and reflected in your Unofficial Royalty Earnings Report.

This data is preliminary. Before month-end, our team performs a final verification of all earnings data. Once that month officially closes, your verified earnings will move from the Unofficial Report into your Royalty Earnings tab, and eventually appear in your Royalty Payout report when payments are issued.

Here’s how it works:

  • Rolling Updates: As distribution partners report earnings to us—on a monthly, bi-monthly, or quarterly basis—we ingest and display them in your Unofficial Report.
  • Final Verification: At month-end, our team completes a full review. Once the month is closed, your verified royalties move to the Royalty Earnings tab and, after payment, appear in your Royalty Payout

How to Find Unofficial Royalty Reporting

  1. Log in to your Author’s Republic account
Visit authorsrepublic.com and log in with your credentials.
  2. Go to your Dashboard
Once logged in, you’ll land on your main dashboard. From here, navigate to the left-hand menu.
  3. Click on “Reporting Dashboard”
In the menu, click on “Reporting Dashboard” to access all your earnings-related information.
  4. Select “Unofficial Royalty Earnings”
Under the Royalty Reports section, you’ll see a new tab or link labeled “Unofficial Royalty Earnings.” Click this to view early-reported royalty data.
  5. View your early earnings data
Here, you’ll find all preliminary earnings that have been reported by distribution partners for the current month. The data will include:
    • The Earnings Month (the reporting period)
    • The Distribution Channel
    • Estimated earnings reported so far

Things to Keep in Mind

To ensure you get the most out of this new feature, here are a few key points to remember:

  • Preliminary = Subject to Change
These numbers are early indicators. Small discrepancies may occur between the unofficial and final versions after our finance team completes verification.
  • Distribution Reporting Schedules Vary
If you don’t see data from a particular channel, it may be due to that partner’s reporting cadence. Not all distributors report monthly—some report every other month or quarterly. Even if a partner reports quarterly, their full three months of earnings will show as a single entry under the month the report was received.
  • It’s a Preview, Not a Final Statement
This report is designed to help you track earnings earlier, but it isn’t a substitute for your final, verified Royalty Earnings or Payout reports.
