June is Audiobook Month, also known as JIAM, was created in 2008 by the Audio Publishers Association (APA) to increase awareness and celebrate the growing popularity of audiobooks. During JIAM, publishers, authors, narrators, listeners, retailers, and distributors come together to celebrate audiobooks and share their love of this unique form of storytelling.

The Audiobook Industry is Booming

Audiobooks have become increasingly popular in recent years, with the APA reporting ten straight years of double-digit audiobook revenue growth in 2021. This rise in popularity can be attributed to several factors, including the convenience of listening on-the-go, the growth of spoken word content, and the overall increased number of high-quality audiobook productions.

Another exciting part of JIAM is the release of new audiobooks and special promotions. Many publishers release new audiobooks during the month of June, and listeners can often find discounts and special promotions on audiobooks during this time.
